It’s exciting to have another painting finished. This new comic book type of art is quite fun to paint and it gives me a chance to broaden my artistic skills. My line art isn’t as good as I would like it to be, so any tips would be most appreciated. I hope you’ll enjoy the piece. Thank you and full view please!
Comments, critiques, and suggestions are welcome as always.
I used: Wacom Tablet Photoshop 7.0 Reference for pose from:
awesome job, im going to critique a couple of things though that cought my eye. The lighting isnt consistent, you've got highlites from all different angles like the light on the bottom of her jaw suggest a strong light from behind and slightly above, yet her right forearm and left shoulder is not equally lit, also skin is less reflective than metal so the highlites on her armor should be brighter than her face. Try to imagine the light sources before you begin shading and limit yourself to two or three lights to keep things getting too complicated. Also the bowstring would be pulled straight and tight. I know this is an old pic, just thought I'd try to offer a few points of interest for you to consider.
Thank you very much for the useful critique, I always look forward to your comments and suggestions. Now that you've pointed those things out, I can definitely see what you're talking about. I know I went a little crazy with the light sources, so for future pics I'll keep it limited like you suggest. Thank you again for the critique, it is appreciated.
